The magician shows eight cards face down and gives four of them to the spectator.

The spectator and the magician place both piles behind their backs and each chooses one card.

Then, the magician and the spectator exchange their cards and place them back in their piles.

Both open their cards and the card they both chose matches. But even better than that, the remaining cards are all white and completely examineable.
